Communicating Findings
The final element in the inquiry process is communication. This is where students are invited to communicate judgements, decisions, conclusions, predictions and/or plans of action clearly and logically.
Communication can take many different forms. It is not necessarily intended to be a ‘final product’ but may represent a way of students sharing their learning/thinking at various points through the inquiry process. The difference between PBL (Project Based Learning) and Inquiry Learning is the way students communicate their learning. While communication may take the form of a final presentation (or piece of work), it does not necessarily need to end in a culminating task. Students are invited to communicate their learning throughout the inquiry process and continue to build on their personal learning as well as the learning of their peers. Communication in the inquiry process, is intended to be a ‘piece’ of the process, and not the ‘summative’ conclusion at the end. Implications in the Classroom:
